Olias does seem to have a bullseye on him all the time, doesn't he?
Regarding healing/prot, the rangers usually require very little healing because of the OoV, Blood Bond and Vigorous Sprit going.
On the monk builds I use for my group, they are set up to compliment each other in terms of skills/roles. If you were to change one, you'd probably want to change/tweak the other so they pair better. I know many people like using ER-protters and N/Rt healers because of possible EN issues if they were to run standard Monk heroes.
Personally, I feel that Monks work very well if their bars are setup carefully. This applies to all heroes, but is much more critical for Monk heal/prot setups.

Alrighty, I've done some more tweaking, and found a setup that really rocks. When I'm solo, I have the usual heroes except instead of the twin monks, I have an E/Mo Ether Renewal Protter (Can't find code) and a Resto Ritualist (OACiEykMJNN5I8kxwJOO9MdxAA).
Just from how I play, these guys seem to manage a lot better with energy as well as damage/Olias spike resistance. Yet to take it through Slaver's HM again, but everywhere else it does the same or better.
A buddy recently started playing again, and he's an Imbagon (woo!), so I was trying to find a way to fit him into the build. After some tinkering, I found out it's as simple as replacing the E/Mo Protter with him (OQGkUhlqJiqE8GPhoHQYN2VR6mqI) and it works just as well. With "SY!" going off every 2-3 seconds, the Resto Rit is easily able to heal up the damage taken.
Let me know if you try this and how it goes

Only thing I see that may possibly be problematic with using the Restore Rit is Weapon of Warding overriding Splinter or vice-versa.

It might sometimes, although I'm usually not paying that much attention to them all, but I think the Rit only puts up Warding if they're losing health, unless I'm mistaken. And if it really interferes, then just take it out for another badass heal :P

@Wenspire:
Looking at your build, i run something similair to it. Just wondering, if u would run a mm necro in it, would you replace the Rit or the Order nec for it?
EDIT: also, maybe a dumb question, but why do u have both Bararge and Volley? Do you use them after each other? doesnt barrage have like a 1sec recharge?

It's a tough call for who to replace if you wanted to run an MM. The SoS Rit has the benefit of Splinter Weapon which does a LOT of AoE burst damage. The Orders Necro has, well Orders, which adds 17 damage (and life steal) per hit along with the added utility skills (weaken armor, blood bond, etc). If you really wanted to run an MM, I would think removing one Ranger would be your best bet. That or convert the SoS Rit into an SoS/restore hybrid and replace the Prot Monk with your MM (with added prot skills like Aegis).
Barrage does have a 1sec recharge, but since I am under a constant 33% IAS and using a shortbow most of the time, I get the bow redrawing problem when trying to continuously spam it. Instead, I alternate with Volley whenever it is available to reduce downtime of AoE attacks.

Before the 7-hero update, shortly after the menagerie was introduced, and during time I was getting GWAMM on my ranger. Most of mainland Cantha was vanquished using these ranger set-ups (henchies dictated by whoever was available). Vanquishing some of the areas with level 4-5 pets was fun, and quickly filled my menagerie.

Was messing around with calculations of "Go For The Eyes" to see what the benefit was to my group (if no one was on Avoid Combat), as a whole, and came up with this (forgive the messy calculating technique):
BOW (12marks/15^50+20%)
Average vs 60AR/100AR: 30 / 15
Crit vs 60AR/100AR: 55 / 27
Difference 60AR/100AR = 25 / 12
STAFF (9-12 attribute. no difference in damage)
Average vs 60AR/100AR: 20 / 10
Crit vs 60AR/100AR: 37 / 19
Difference 60AR/100AR: 17 / 9
PET Hearty (12beastmastery)
Average vs 60AR/100AR: 25 / 13
AvgCrit vs 60AR/100AR: 35 / 18
Difference 60AR/100AR: 10 / 5
Bow(x4) vs 60AR/100AR: 100 / 48
Staff (x4) vs 60AR/100AR: 68 / 36
Pet (x4) vs 60AR/100AR: 40 / 20
/2 (+49% crit chance with GftE skill)
Bow(x4) vs 60AR/100AR: 50 / 24
Staff (x4) vs 60AR/100AR: 34 / 18
Pet (x4) vs 60AR/100AR: 20 / 10
Total Damage vs 60AR/100AR = 104 / 52
Pet crit damage is a little tricky since it didn't seem set in stone on how it is calculated on the wiki, so I just did what I could based on the info given. It was also interesting that staves (maybe wands too?) did the same range of damage as long as you met the minimum requirement. The total damage benefit seems pretty fair for a skill that requires no energy, has no activation time and is easy to fuel (with barrage). Though I am sure many would find the total DPS unappealing, I think it is a decent party-buffing addition to the OoV and Ebon Standard of Honor.
*EDIT* Forgot the 20% customization on staff.

Haven't been playing GW much lately, but decided to try making changes to my Ranger-group setup. Replaced the PMonk with a Necro Prot/Smiter with JudgesInsight. Changed the hero Rangers' bars a bit by removing the Mes skills (redistro'ed Inspiration points for a higher BM) and replacing with CallofHaste. The loss of the extra Mes disrupt didn't seem to make much difference. Having the pets running quicker and doing more damage seems to be beneficial overall. Couldn't think of a better elite for my Prot/Smite Necro so settled with ReapersMark for more EN (was unneeded perhaps). My character also seemed to take the priority with the JudgesInsight cast which was a relief.
Redid Duncan HM with it and came out with a 21min time (23min was with my previous setup). Though, I did use one slice of Pie as a con (have four I need to get rid of), so maybe that made a difference?

Rragar HM ZB: As much as I dislike using an MM, I can't deny it's OPing effectiveness. I got clear times of 10/14/9 compared to my old run of 18/14/11. Could have something to do with the new update with Ele and HM AR ratings though.
MM subbed in place of pMonk. No FrozSoil used. Just ran straight through. Wiped once on second level when I decided to aggro 3 groups at once. The two Flesheater key bosses, on level 2, didn't even stand a chance.

I am finding, little trouble the Healer and Prot keep running infront of rangers and mobs leave the pets go after them over and over even after flagging them back.

My guess is that you may have them equipped with a melee weapon and have their behavior set to Attack or Defend. You can solve the problem by setting them to Avoid Combat or equipping a ranged weapon. If they have a spear equipped and they are on Defend or Attack, they will also run up pretty close to attack.
If the issue isn't from that then my only other guess is that you have a touch-ranged skill equipped on them or maybe a half-ranged skill like HealingWhisper.
If those don't solve the problem, post a screenshot of your setup.

I curious, would a N/Mo AoTL MM/Prot work instead of a Prot Monk. Haven't tried it yet but I think it might work out well.

Yes, it does work. If you look up at my last post with a screenshot, that is what I used just for fun.

Kathandrax HM: (Today's ZB) MMs are just too crazy. That and/or enemy HM armor changes...
Level times of 13/14/13. My previous bests were 16/15/14 with an STprot in place of an MM.
